13X is an experimental project at the intersection of photography, new technologies, and intermedia art.
13 visions, 13 different experiences of space and image ? enclosed in a reduced scale, but open to new perspectives of reception.
Each participant created an individual presentation within a white cube exhibition module at a reduced, individually determined scale.
The modules, each with a 50×50 cm base, were designed and handcrafted, and their spatial arrangement and mode of display were developed through collaborative group work in the Studio of Photographic Activities at the Institute of Photography and Multimedia at the Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź.
13X presents 13 visions, 13 distinct experiences of space, image, and object - enclosed within a defined scale, yet open to new ways of seeing.
The works were created using a wide range of techniques: from classical photography, through textile objects and 3D prints, to installations incorporating algorithms, chance, movement, and the passage of time.
The exhibition is also part of the activities of Pure Research Studio - a research platform initiated by Dominika Sadowska in 2021, responding to the need for alternative and more sustainable modes of photographic exhibition production (IG @pureresearchstudio).
13X poses a question about scale in art, in relationships, in creative processes. It is an exercise in limitation that opens up new possibilities for perception and collaboration.
The project is carried out as part of statutory research at the Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź, in cooperation with the Archeology of Photography Foundation.
